Blackbird Cottage

Set on the edge of a picturesque market town, this traditional 18th century Grade II listed cottage has been sensitively refurbished to provide delightful holiday accommodation for up to four guests. The bustling Georgian market town of Holt is only a 5 minute level walk and makes a wonderful base for enjoying this idyllic area.


The stunning Norfolk coastline is just 4 miles away, and there are many wonderful rural walks to be discovered. Holt is home to a fantastic variety of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, historic buildings and art galleries, and the nearby Holt Country Park offers 100 acres of woodland. Local attractions include the ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle and Binham Priory, the Muckleburgh Military Collection and the watermill at Letheringsett. You can also take a trip on a steam train, or visit lovely coastal resorts including Wells-next-the-Sea and Cromer. Other places to visit include Blakeney National Nature Reserve, Pensthorpe Natural Park and the Cley Marshes Nature Reserve.


Originally part of the Holt Workhouse, this lovely 18th century Grade II listed building has been refurbished for 2022, making it a charming single-level holiday home ideal for a couple or a small family. On entering the property, a porch leads you through to the spacious, vaulted lounge/diner which retains original features including a brick chimney and a traditional wood burner. This light and welcoming room is an ideal space to relax in, complete with comfortable seating and Smart TV. You will also find a charming dining area which leads through to the attractively designed shaker-style kitchen, which is fully equipped with an oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. Exploring the cottage further you will find two cosy double bedrooms. There’s also refitted bathroom, bath, walk-in shower and WC.


Stepping outside, you will find a pretty enclosed and part-walled southwest-facing garden with a charming lawn and a patio area where you can unwind at the end of a lovely day. Gated access to the garden. There’s also a gravel parking space.


Dogs are charged at £25 each per full or part week.
