Songbirds, a traditional Victorian flint cottage is the perfect base for exploring the North Norfolk coast with its sandy beaches, pine forests and wide-open skies. The Green Flag awarded Holt Country Park, on the edge of the town, has over 100 acres of woodland to discover with many organised events There is also excellent bird watching, walking, and cycling in the area. The coastal villages of Blakeney and Cley are just five miles away with the sandy beach at Sheringham just six miles away.

Whilst having been totally refurbished in 2021 to a high standard of comfort and providing all modern amenities, the cottage retains its Grade 2 listed charm and character, ensuring you enjoy a relaxing break.

The front door opens into a cosy lounge which has been fully refurbished and benefits from wooden flooring, a comfy two seater sofa, two armchairs and a smart TV with the facility to watch Netflix, Amazon Prime and numerous other channels. All of the new furnishings complement the brick fireplace and freestanding wood burning stove.

The lounge opens onto a spacious dining area with a round wooden table and chairs, providing ample space for four people to dine together.

From the dining area a door leads through to a light and airy fully refitted kitchen with a vaulted ceiling. Equipped with a fitted oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge, as well as a coffee machine, kettle and toaster.

Outside there is a small paved courtyard garden which benefits from a table and four chairs, perfect for al-fresco dining or a relaxing glass of wine.

Upstairs the cottage has two bedrooms and a newly refitted shower room, with rain forest shower, basin and toilet. There are original wooden floorboards throughout, and plenty of storage for a comfortable stay. The main bedroom has a wrought iron double bed with two solid oak bedside cabinets and a small walk-in wardrobe. The second bedroom has full sized wooden bunk beds together with a solid oak bedside cabinet and chest of drawers. All beds feature brand new award winning mattresses.

The allocated parking space is about 200 metres from the property
Songbirds is a traditional Grade II listed property and does not have room in the bedrooms for a cot
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome at a charge of £25 per dog, however they are not allowed on the soft furnishings or upstairs
There is no smoking or vaping allowed in Songbirds

"This is our very best airbnb experience to date. We were only the 4th guests. The cottage is in a perfect position within 5 minutes of the centre of Holt. There is parking included which is such a bonus, the parking is 2 minutes away near some lovely allotments and to be honest the car felt safer there than on any road. There is no need to cook but the kitchen is superb , we found the dishwasher a great bonus and all the pots and pans and glasses were brand new , nice sharp knives, wooden spoons just everything that sometimes is lacking in holiday cottages. We got take away from the Italian restaurant 2 minutes walk away, we had fish and chips in Wells one evening, we had a lovely balmy evening in the back courtyard of the cottage eating tapas and we got "cook" meals from Bakers and Larners in Holt. We walked to Budgens for any groceries. Communication with Rob and Zoe was brilliant! Very prompt every time, nothing was too much trouble. The decor in the cottage is tasteful, new and very comfortable indeed. Lovely bathroom, wooden floors. We fell in love with Holt and with Norfolk, there is so much to see and do. We rode our bikes on the Marriots way from Aylsham, we walked on the beach at Wells, we cycled on the Holkham estate , we walked some of the North Norfolk coastal path, we visited Blickling Hall, we walked the sea front at Old Hunstanton, we walked in Sherringham park and Holt country park. Of course we also had time in the lovely shops of Holt. There are still other things we will do on our next visit when we will probably rent one of Rob's other lovely cottages for a bigger family group. If you are looking for a great cottage in Norfolk do not hesitate, Holt is so central for the area, the people are super friendly and the position of Songbirds in this lovely town is hard to beat. Added to that Rob and his team have thought of everything."

"We had lovely time in Songbirds, the cottage was spotlessly clean and from the moment we opened the door it was obvious that everything had been done with the highest standards and attention to details, it had absolutely everything we could need to enjoy our stay. Cottage is in an excellent location, close to restaurants, cafes, shops, minutes to amazing walking paths and magnificent country park which is ideal if you have pets or children or love nature. Communication with Rob was amazing, it didn’t take even a minute to get helpful response. It was our first stay in Songbirds, definitely will return."
